Students future at stake

Today I read in the newspaper that 44 deemed universities will now be de-recognized by govt. in which lakhs of students are studying in a hope of making their carrier but with this step their hopes will be crushed. When they took admission to these institutions they would not have even a slight idea that in the middle of their courses they will have to face something like this. It is stated that these institutes are not having proper infrastructure, if that’s the case it should have been highlighted at the time when this institutes were given recognition and why not there were periodic audits of the infrastructure so that the students and their parents don't have to suffer like this.
After reading this news how these student will be able to concentrate on their studies as for them now their future is at stake. Ministry has although said that the affected students will be taken care and the institutes will revert back to quo ante status as an affiliated college but will that be enough can been seen in future only. Rather these institute should have been given some grace time period to comply with guidelines although it is a responsibility of these institutes should be up to the mark but now who is at loosing end are students. They could have even said that from next academic session if they don’t comply then they will be de-recognized from the day 1 of next session so that students at that time decide whether to join these institute or not but this news at this time will only lead to chaos. Hope some middle way gets taken on this as this decision will be very critical for many.

  1. Yes Sir, you are right and I just want to say in this matter that Government is playing with student future. Because government had given the approval for these universities and why they had not checked before? Why they are saying now?

  3. Hi Vikram,
I have seen 2 medical colleges and a deemed university getting MCI, DCI, NCI, AICTE and other approvals without proper infrastructure. During my initial IT career I was deputed at the client locations and during that time I had participated actively in their administrative affairs also. There I had seen by bribing crores of rupees to the authorities they acquire the approvals anc certifications. This is a common issue among small scale and mid-scale educational concerns.

For them it is business whereas for us education. The people who deal with deemed universities, colleges, etc are political figures and businessmen again who are either uneducated or school dropouts. Not a joke, its my personal experience. I can give you dozens of such peoples' names. They take bank loans for their college, university, etc. and once get approval make huge money.

Let me give u some college names, KIIT, HMCH, IMS & Sum Hospital, ITER, KBRC, DRIEMS,etc. you may just google these terms and u will find the details. Take example of HMCH (Hitech medical college & hospital). It was a 110 Crore rupees project. they failed 3 times and then got approval on the 4th time for MBBS. And this time they bribed. Afterwards they got BDS,MS, MD, etc approvals. They got approval for 100 seats. Each MBBS student has to pay around 40 Lacs for studies. The more money you pay the better grades u can acquire. Some Doctors after qualifying can't tell you how to do blood grouping. never attended a dissection class. I have myself seen medics in Operation Theatres (I suppose u hav seenn my OT photo during our TPO days) dont know how to stitch post operation.

I suppose i am running out of space. So stopping here.....

  4. Sab paise ka hi khel he bhai. Agar tum 4-5 Crores lagane kliye taiyar ho to me tumhe AICTE approval dilwasakta hun. Kya samjhe.....

Saare project PLDA.be jaise nahi hote. Vodafone-CZ jaise kuchh maha kachra project bhi hen IBM me. Ek baar gaur se dekha to pata lagega k politics kise kahte he aur log paise k liye kya kuchh karsakte he...

  6. Hi Sir,
Ur concern seems reasonable, although my first reaction to the news was positive...i mean yes the decision making was to be done earlier while giving a university some status, yet I feel the mere fact that somebody showed concern about low quality infrastructure- based institutions running in the country and taking the courage to decide something like this itself appeared as a hope to me that there are some members out there who might just be thinking different...abt present students...yes they will suffer but i would say this step might prevent many more students to suffer in coming times.
And to bring in big changes, there are always some costs to be paid...but yes by tactful planning the costs must be decreased to as low levels as possible.

  7. You are right Sarita but its a late reaction as there are student who will suffer so they must have find the middle way by not touching these institutes for at least this academic session.

  9. You are right friend and this is really tragic that now the whole issue depends on whether you will pay bribe or not, if you fill their mouths with money then in next day's news paper you will be given a clean chit... this whole system is rotten now and this is so disturbing as this is our country and our people who are getting ruined and nobody cares…
